Spades & Hearts – a battle against cancer [Updated]
You have certainly heard of something called MOVEMBER, a fun way of raising awareness (and donations) for male cancer forms such as prostate and testicular cancer. Most of us men are guilt of not going to the doctor often enough for check-ups, yet 1 out of 4 (!) men will be diagnosed with some sort of cancer in their lifetime. So it IS important, as is the research to find cures for cancer.
I was happy enough to be director of photography on the first mini documentary by Katharina Dietl. This is the short version to be submitted to Philip Bloom’s Movember film competition.
I recommend you watch the long version right here (short version below):
Here’s the shorter version which served as a teaser:
I shot this on the Canon EOS C300 (within around 2 hours) on Zeiss Contax lenses (thanks to Sebastian Wöber for loaning them out to me).
Our friend Philip Bloom started engaging his audience in donating to the Movember campaigns in the past few years by motivating his industry contacts to donate gear which can be won by all who donate. This year it has reached unprecedented levels, and the prizes that can be won are of incredible value – head over to his blog post to learn more on how to participate and do good at the same time.
